It's hard to top Brazil as a honeymoon destination - it offers everything you could wish for in terms of style, luxury and romance, coupled with fantastic people and a great climate: Brazil really is one of the world's best honeymoon destinations.
Best of all, all our honeymoons in Brazil can be completely tailormade, so whether your Brazil honeymoon will be about relaxing on gorgeous beaches or abseiling through the jungle - we can tailor this honeymoon itinerary so it's perfect for you!
You'll start your honeymoon in Brazil in Rio, where you'll stay at the world-famous Copacabana Palace so you're perfectly-placed to enjoy all the highlights of Rio. You'll then visit the stunning Iguazu Falls before heading up to the north of Brazil to enjoy some of that year-round sunshine.
in the beautiful colonial city of Salvador and then the picture-perfect beaches of Praia do Forte.
Day One - Your Brazil Honeymoon Begins!
Arrive in Rio on an evening flight as you begin your honeymoon in Brazil! You will be met at the airport and driven to the world-famous Copacabana Palace hotel. Located right on Copacabana beach, this hotel has been welcoming the rich and famous since it opened its doors in 1923. After settling in to this iconic hotel, you may like to take a walk along the waterfront and perhaps to take in an evening meal on your first night here in Rio. Of course, since this is your first night on honeymoon in Brazil, then Rio is a fabulous place to celebrate...
Day Two - Tour of Rio: Corcovado and Tijuca National Park
You'll have some free time this morning to recover from your journey, and then this afternoon we will pick you up from your hotel and drive through Rio to the base of Mt. Corcovado. Here we will board a funicular railway which carries us up through the dense Tijuca Atlantic Rainforest to the top of the mountain and the base of the famous Christ the Redeemer statue that has become one of the most famous symbols of Rio, and indeed Brazil. The views over the city from the top are absolutely amazing and it's the perfect way to get your bearings and pick out where to visit next!
Days Three and Four - Free days in Rio
We appreciate that as wonderful as weddings are, they can also be pretty stressful, so with that in mind, we’ve given you a couple of days free to just relax and do whatever you want to do. You could take a trip to the Maracana, or to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain, or just kick back in Copacabana with a caipirinha and go for a stroll along the waterfront...
Day Five - Travel to Iguazu Falls
After breakfast this morning we'll pick you up and take you to the airport for a short flight further south to the town of Foz do Iguazu, on the border with Argentina. We'll be there to meet you and take you to your luxury hotel across the border in the heart of the Argentinian Iguazu National Park. You'll arrive in the late afternoon so you have plenty of time to relax on the verandas or enjoy the views of the falls from the hotel grounds.
Day Six - Iguazu Falls (Argentinian Side)
This morning we will take you for your first visit to the famous and spectacular Iguazu Falls. Higher than Niagara Falls, and wider than Victoria Falls, Iguazu takes your breath away with its sheer beauty and awesome power - you will visit the falls today from the Argentinian side, where a system of walkways projecting out into the middle of the waterfall system allow you to really feel the power of the waterfalls all around you.
Day Seven - Iguazu Falls (Brazilian Side)
Today we will re-visit Iguazu Falls, but this time from the Brazilian side. Here a long walkway along the canyon top allows you to appreciate the scale of Iguazu as you work your way along to a point giving you a panoramic view of the famous Devil's Throat, where 14 separate falls combine in a drop of 350 feet, sending spray over 100 feet into the air for a permanent rainbow!
Day Eight - Fly to Salvador
Time for something completely different on your Brazil honeymoon now, as we pick you up in Iguazu and take you to the airport for a flight up to the north of Brazil and the wonderful carnival city of Salvador de Bahia. Widely known as the home of the best carnival in Brazil - that's right: better than Rio - Salvador is home to a completely different Afro-Brazilian tradition and as well as a lovely colonial centre and great beaches, it offers you a whole new side of Brazil to explore!
Day Nine - Salvador City Tour
Today we will pick you up and take you for a tour of Salvador, letting you see the highlights of its colonial Old Town, with its brightly-painted and tiled grand houses, churches and squares, and visiting some of the other historical sites of interest before we take you to the lovely beach town of Praia do Forte, which will be your home for the next few days. Here you can relax and then head to the beach to enjoy one of the nicest stretches of golden sands that Brazil has to offer...
Days Ten to Thirteen - Praia do Forte
This morning we will take you to the lovely beach town of Praia do Forte, which will be your home for the next few days of your honeymoon in Brazil. Here you can relax and then head to the beach to enjoy one of the nicest stretches of golden sands that Brazil has to offer…These few days are all about total relaxation, so what you do with them is completely up to you. You can enjoy the twelve kilometres of golden beaches, backed by dunes and coconut palms, or you can visit the colonial Garcia d’Avila fort, or the marine turtle reservation run by the Tamar project. Of course, if you’re looking for something more active, it might be time to rent a surfboard and hit some waves!
Day Fourteen - Last day on honeymoon in Brazil
You’ll have some free time this morning so you can enjoy a last swim before we take you back to the airport in Salvador for your flight back to Rio. Most international flights for the UK leave fairly late at night so you’ll arrive in plenty of time to catch the flight back home.
Easy upgrades
As we've said, we can tailormake your itinerary to your exact specifications, and you can have a look at our Brazil Guide or some of our other Brazil Holidays for ideas about how to add to our Brazil holidays, but we can also offer you some easy optional extras which fit into this exact itinerary:
The Pantanal - from £650pp
If you're a true wildlife-lover, then why not extend your honeymoon in Brazil with a visit to the amazing Pantanal wetlands in the south of Brazil? Many people rate the incredible diversity of the Pantanal even more highly than the Amazon itself...
Maracana - from £70pp
While you're in Rio, why not take some time to visit another famous symbol of Brazil and one of the true shrines of world football: the enormous Maracana stadium. Originally built to hold 200,000 spectators, it's even better when Flamengo are playing at home...
Boat trip at Iguazu Falls - from £90pp
There are many great ways to experience Iguazu Falls but if you want to feel the raw power of the water then the best way is to get out onto it! A boat trip takes you up the canyon of the Rio Iguazu, and right up to the Falls themselves - with an optional rafting trip on the way back down.
Fernando de Noronha - from £750pp
These beautiful tropical islands lie just off Brazil's northern coasts and their white sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters are a favourite option for honeymoons in Brazil and the perfect place to really relax and get away from it all...
