Buzios

Beach luxury in Buzios

In this age of celebrity endorsements it's easy to forget a more innocent age when the places became associated with the stars not because they were paid to go there but because they fell in love with them. That's how it was when a young but already famous Brigitte Bardot visited the little-known Buzios peninsula back in the 1960s.

She found a beautiful coastline of verdant cliffs, studded with dozens of sheltered coves and glorious beaches which are enough to turn anyone's head, and we can promise you that, just like Brigitte, you'll be tempted to stay in Buzios for months to enjoy each and every one of them!

The different beaches in Buzios

Buzios beaches

Apart from the great natural beauty of the area, one of the attractions is that Buzios has many different types of beach. Those on the west coast of the peninsula tend to have calm, clear waters, while those which face the open Atlantic ocean on the eastern side of the Peninsula are usually much wilder, making them fantastic for surfing.

There is obviously a lot of variation between the different beaches, so some offer peace and solitude away from the crowds, while others have a range of beach bars and restaurants so you can recharge during the day and then party all night! In fact, the nightlife on some of the Buzios beaches is deinitely a main reason for many people to visit the area.

Rest assured, however, that if it's some peace and quiet you're looking for, then Buzios can deliver on that score as well. Buzios also offers a wide range of hotels and traditional pousadas so you're not short of accommodation options either.

If you'd like to discuss some hotel options with us then just get in touch and let us know what you're looking for: whether it's a top-notch resort-style hotel, or a boutique pousada, then we're sure we'll find something suitable for you.

Getting to Buzios

One of the really great things about Buzios is that it's so accessible from Rio. Just three hours up the coastal road will see you safely out of Rio and delivered to those lovely golden sands... It's a major advantage for Buzios over, say Paraty, or even Angra Dos Reis and it's the main reason why we tend to recommend Buzios over these other two areas, particularly if time is tight.
